So this is our home for the next 2.5 weeks, it's very big and roomy
First stop lunch, Buffalo wings for me burger for Ed, there has been a lot of eating
You know the story a man has to have butter for his toast at 8am in the morning you would be running around looking for butter, even better we found this very cute bakery, and free wifi
Bacon egg and cheese hot bun, hot coffee and juice, a very nice way to start any day,
Straight out of the movies, yep this really is the kids school bus,
A little town called Calico, a ghost mining town of sorts, where a few of the locals have now started the there own tourist attraction, with candle, rock, sewing, cafe and bar shops, very cute,
the school
The Bar, very old, and the most awesome mirror,
yep we found pickled pig feet, yuk,
road side stop for lunch, we are out in the desert and its hot,
This was one of those cute little birds that you just stalk for hours,
one yellow bush I reckon if I sit here long enough a rabbit might hop past it, yep, it did,
the banks of the Colorado River our 2nd night ,
a humming bird these little things would only be 2 inches long, if you stand in the one spot for a hour you will get a shot, eventually,
The Grand Canyon the most amazing place I think I have ever seen, its so big, these are the only photos I have of it, there is a very long story behind that, we will tell when we get back,
only in America would a deer walk down the main st of town followed closely by 65 tourist, yep us included, but if you wait long enough it will go back to the bush, wait for it, wait, wait,
Much better animal now back in the bush,
Ok there is a lot to be said about route 66 we have only done a very small part of it but I am thinking to myself, STOP DOING DRUGS, and for all those that have done way to many all living on the one road make it very easy for us to find you, its crazy, LOL and amazing,
Ok no trip would be complete without at least trying one packet right, DONE, once only,
Ok we went to dinner at the local steak house, we ordered mushrooms for entree got this hugh basket full of battered mushrooms we couldnt eat, then I got the 1/2 serve of ribs,(lucky) another giant plate of food, so over here you just ask for a takeout box and take it all home, I have now been eating for 2 nights and still have enough for dinner tonight, now thats cost effective,
On the road food this was one of those special cakes where you thought, OMG this is yum,
Ed is the fine picker of the best servo's if the wind had blown it would have fallen over, they do have the best sevros in the world but I have to tell you, but, we just keep missing them,
now that's American
and sometimes it's just pretty where in Indian Country, and tommorrow my dream come true we are nearly at Page home of Peter Lik's slot canyon pictures,
Ok so Charly from Overland Tours picked us up at 7am, it was a great day better than I ever thought possible, Charly has a Nikon D4 I have a Canon 1D so it was game on all day, I would like to thank him for the effort he made getting me in and out of the canyon, awesome, and the time he took to make sure the dream was coming true, LOVED MY DAY, thanks, Canyon X, Page, AZ, USA,
So after spending the day with Charly, we decided we should do a sunset run with him, you find places you never would have with a local, super glue he reckons holds the lid on, a lot of it I would think,
Horse Shoe Bend Lake Powell, Page, Up and through soft sand for about 2 ks you then had to lay on your belly and crawl out over the 1000 foot drop and hope like hell you did drop your camera, the white spots at the bottom are boats,
Bryce Canyon we are here tonight and hopeing to get up for sunrise but havent made it once yet keep sleeping through it,
I am not sure how we ended up in the snow, but we did, we where a little excited, at this stage I still dont have a jumper so I am not getting out, they said it was summer, lyars, its freezing,
We stumbled accross an old mining town, this took my fancy,
The Breakfast of champions, my life is good,
In Nevada there are the biggest plains, they pretty much run the width of the country,
So at this stage I am driving, well I was till I just about sat our RV on it's nose when I saw one of these on the plains, an RV can go from 100ks to stop in 6feet, I am not allowed to drive an more,
Mexican food chilli, cream cheese, crumbed and fried, yum,
Cathedral Gorge,
Hares the size of dogs,
And into Yosemite we went, up at 5am they reckon you have to be there by 10am or there are no parks left, it was like stepping into a fairy tale, OMG it was the most beautiful place I have ever seen,
There was deer, squirrels, waterfalls, I cant go on, sorry the rest of the photos are in the comp file,
yep all that food is working, damn, some dude walked by and couldn't believe I was trying to take a photo of myself when I had all that equipment so he took a photo and then I made him take a photo of me,
We stayed at Yosemite overnight, time to look for bear, So sit your man in a paddock and wait to see if he can attract a bear, didnt work, I stood back yelling "here bear bear bear" still didnt work
So Rex had told me that Hummingbirds are attracted to red, this was the only thing that was red in the hole park, so if I just stand here that might work, It did, I might add it was freezing and by the time I got the shoots I was shaking cold took about 3 hours to get warm again,
He took so much juice he sat there and just kept drinking, made me giggle,
there's a bit to much going on in this car,
Oakland Bridge San Francisco
Catching our tram to pier 39
Run Forrest all the way to the shrimp shop,
Yep it was yum,
The view from our seat,
Last stop the famous sour dough, Breakie sorted,
